MEDICAL CLOTHING – WHAT DOES THE HEALTH INSURANCE COMPANY PAY?
Cost coverage by health insurance companies

Our special clothing was developed specifically for people with skin conditions such as atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, or sensitive skin. As a Class I medical device, it can be prescribed by a doctor—even if it isn't listed in the German Medical Devices Register. Reimbursement by health insurance companies is possible, but depends on your insurance type.
Statutory health insurance (GKV):
Get a prescription from your doctor:
Have your dermatologist or family doctor prescribe the medically necessary special clothing for skin conditions (e.g., atopic dermatitis, psoriasis) on a private prescription (blue/white). We also recommend that you present our TRUSTGARN certificate to the specialist.
The wording is important: e.g., "Medical dermatosis clothing for the treatment of atopic dermatitis – product recommended by TRUSTGARN."
Recommendation: We recommend that you bring our product flyer to your treating physician for an overview.
Buy product at TRUSTGARN:
You order the required product directly from us and receive an invoice with the product name shown.

Apply for reimbursement from your health insurance provider:
Submit the following documents to your health insurance provider:
- The recipe
- The invoice (alternative: cost estimate)

Secure a doctor’s prescription:
Some private insurance companies also require medical necessity. Therefore, ideally, get a private prescription (blue/white).
Optional: We recommend that you also submit the TRUSTGARN certificate completed by the specialist
Buy product and submit invoice:
Order directly from TRUSTGARN and then submit the invoice, along with a private doctor's prescription and, if applicable, the TRUSTGARN certificate, to your private health insurance provider.
Reimbursement by insurance:
Reimbursement depends on the individual plan. Most plans cover medically necessary devices or products of this type.

Note on reimbursement for our dermatosis clothing
It's possible that your health insurance provider may refuse to cover the costs the first time – for example, because our product isn't listed in the medical device directory. Don't let this discourage you! This rejection doesn't mean you're not entitled to reimbursement.
Important information
The statutory health insurance funds' list of medical aids is not an exhaustive list. The GKV-Spitzenverband (National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Funds) has also confirmed that it is not a negative list. This means that products not listed in the list may still be reimbursable.
Legal basis
According to Section 33 SGB V, there is a right to reimbursement of costs if:
- the medical necessity exists,
- a doctor’s prescription is available,
- the care serves to alleviate the consequences of the disease or prevent it from worsening
